To work for legislative and legal validity for the profession.

To issue registration certificate for all the registered members.

To issue a permanent ID card with unique password to peruse the website of the association.

To send quarterly news letter to all the registered members about the latest development in the profession, Govt. orders relevant to our profession, job opportunities in the profession in India and abroad and all matters of general interest.

To arrange for conferences /workshops in Health Records in different regions of the country by rotation in order to serve as a continuing education for the professionals and learning for the students.

To offer consultancy on establishment and training of manpower in health records to private hospitals, nursing homes etc., and give accreditation so that a general standard in health records and HIM can be achieved.

To have liaison with Internal Organizations in Health Records and the WHO in order to know the latest developments in disease classification systems and other information management programs so that it can be communicated to the members.

To help all private hospitals and nursing homes to develop a retention policy for medical records and also help them to in matters of release of information to patients, their legal attendants, Court etc, on medico-legal and non-medico legal cases.
